The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to be held in February–March 2026, with India and Sri Lanka confirmed as joint hosts. The event will be the tenth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and will mark the tournament’s return to Asia following the 2024 edition in the Americas.
The tournament is expected to feature 20 teams, continuing the expanded format introduced in 2024. Matches are planned across multiple venues in both host countries, including established international stadiums in India and Sri Lanka. This will be the second time Sri Lanka co-hosts a Men’s T20 World Cup, following the 2012 edition, and the first time India hosts the event since 2016.
As of now, the ICC has confirmed the hosting arrangement and general scheduling window, while detailed match fixtures, venues, and group allocations are yet to be finalized. The event will follow India’s title win in 2024, with the defending champions entering the tournament as holders of the trophy. Qualification pathways for associate nations are being completed through ICC regional and global qualifying events.
The 2026 tournament will continue the ICC’s effort to maintain a consistent four-year cycle for the Men’s T20 World Cup, with the competition remaining one of the most widely watched global cricket events due to its shorter match format and multi-nation participation.
