Maria Putina, the eldest daughter of Vladimir Putin and Lyudmila Shkrebneva, was born on April 28, 1985, in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). Maria, often referred to by her nickname Masha, was born during Putin's early career in the KGB, when he was stationed in Leningrad before being posted to Dresden, East Germany, for several years.
As the daughter of Russia’s future leader, Maria has maintained a very private life, with limited information available about her personal affairs. The Putin family has always been highly protective of their privacy, especially regarding their daughters. Maria, like her sister Katerina, has lived much of her life away from the public eye, even as her father's political career brought him to the international stage.
Maria pursued advanced studies in biology and later in medicine. She is reported to have studied at Saint Petersburg State University and later attended Moscow State University for her medical training. In recent years, Maria has been involved in medical and genetic research, keeping a low profile despite her father’s global prominence.
