Michael King Sr. assumed the role of Senior Pastor following the death of the previous pastor, Williams. This transition occurred in the fall after Williams' passing in the spring. King Sr. was instrumental in revitalizing the church, significantly increasing attendance from around six hundred to several thousand congregants. His leadership style and vision for the church attracted a larger community, fostering a more vibrant and engaged congregation. King Sr. was not only focused on local growth but also on expanding the church's influence beyond its immediate community. In recognition of his leadership and the church's growing prominence, he was selected for a multinational trip that included participation in the Fifth Congress of the Baptist World Alliance held in Berlin. This opportunity allowed him to connect with other Baptist leaders globally, further enhancing the church's outreach and mission.
