Guinea's Pro-Doumbouya Coalition Wins Supermajority in 2026 Legislative Elections

Guinea's legislative elections held on 31/05/2026 resulted in a decisive victory for political groups aligned with President Mamady Doumbouya, according to provisional results released by the country's electoral authorities. The Generation for Modernity and Development (GMD) coalition and its allies secured at least 100 of the 147 seats in the National Assembly, giving the ruling camp a commanding parliamentary majority and further strengthening Doumbouya's position in government.
