George S. Patton was born in November 1885 in San Gabriel, California, to George S. Patton and Ruth Wilson. The Patton family lived at Lake Vineyard, a property built by Benjamin Wilson, on 128 acres in what is now San Marino, California. Patton had a younger sister named Anne, affectionately known as 'Nita'. He received home tutoring until the age of eleven, after which he attended Stephen Cutter Clark's Classical School for Boys in Pasadena for six years.
