In May 2005, we completed a £3 million extension and redevelopment programme at Lancaster House Hotel. The investment substantially expanded the hotel, which we had originally opened in 1991, and strengthened its facilities for both business events and leisure stays. Our company history records May 2005 as the completion of the programme.
A major part of the project was a new conference and banqueting suite, which almost doubled the hotel’s capacity. We also added 19 luxury bedroom suites and expanded the Sandpiper Leisure Club and Sandeman’s Bar. englishlakes.co.uk The additional accommodation remains a distinctive part of Lancaster House, which today has 99 bedrooms, including 19 Luxury Studio Suites.
The redevelopment increased the range of facilities available to conference delegates, event organisers and leisure guests and built on Lancaster House’s purpose-built conference offering. It represented one of the most substantial investments in the property since its opening.
