English Lakes Hotels received Family Business award

In 2016, English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues was named Family Business of the Year. The award recognised the family-owned business during a period in which the Berry family continued to play an active role in the management and development of the hotel group. Our own company history records the Family Business of the Year award among the key events of 2016. Family ownership has been a defining part of English Lakes since the business began welcoming guests at Low Wood in 1953. Successive generations of the Berry family have been involved in its operation, alongside the wider team responsible for running the group's hotels and hospitality venues. The 2016 recognition reflected this long-standing family-business structure and came shortly before a period of substantial investment, including the redevelopment of Low Wood Bay.
