Ben Berry Appointed Group Managing Director

In April 2022, Ben Berry became Group Managing Director of English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, moving from his previous role as Sales and Purchasing Director. The appointment made Ben the fifth generation of the family to take the helm of the business. His father, Simon Berry, moved into the newly created position of Executive Chairman, taking a greater oversight and planning role while Ben assumed responsibility for the day-to-day running of the group. The leadership change formed part of a wider expansion of our executive board. Teresa Lawrence became Group Sales Director, Matt Stanaway was appointed Hotel Operations Director and Michael Kay became Group Leisure Director. The appointments were announced in March 2022, ahead of Ben formally taking the reins in April. Ben's appointment continued a succession of family leadership stretching back to the early years of the business at Low Wood. He had already joined the English Lakes board in June 2018 before progressing to Group Managing Director four years later.
