Ben Berry Appointed to Board of English Lakes Hotels

In June 2018, we appointed Ben Berry to the Board of Directors of English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues as Sales and Purchasing Director. Ben had worked as an executive within the group since 2011 and had previously held roles across the business, including in sales, reservations, the health club and the watersports centre at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa. His appointment continued the Berry family's involvement in the management of the business. Ben joined his father, Managing Director Simon Berry, and his uncle Tim Berry on the board. Contemporary reporting described him as representing the fifth generation of the family to be involved in the business at senior executive level. The appointment gave Ben responsibility at board level for sales and purchasing across the hotel group. He remained in that role until 2022, when he became Group Managing Director and Simon Berry moved to the newly created position of Executive Chairman.
