Manufactures Dior SRL, a subsidiary of Christian Dior Italia SRL, was placed under judicial administration by Italian authorities due to serious labor violations within its supply chain. Investigations uncovered that four small suppliers in the Milan area were employing 32 workers under exploitative conditions. Among these workers, two were undocumented immigrants, while seven others lacked the necessary documentation. The working and living conditions of these individuals were found to be unsanitary, raising significant concerns about their health and safety. Furthermore, the suppliers were reported to have operated continuously, even during holidays, and had removed safety devices from machinery to enhance production speed, thereby compromising worker safety. This situation highlights the ongoing issues of labor exploitation in the fashion industry, particularly in supply chains that often prioritize cost-cutting over ethical practices. The judicial administration imposed on Manufactures Dior SRL serves as a critical response to these violations, aiming to enforce compliance with labor laws and improve conditions for workers in the sector.
