Incumbent President Denis Sassou Nguesso won the Republic of the Congo presidential election held on 15/03/2026, securing 94.82% of the vote according to provisional results announced by the Interior Ministry (as of 21/03/2026). Official turnout was reported at 84.65%. The election determined the country’s head of state for a new term and followed a campaign period marked by limited opposition participation. The Constitutional Court was given 15 days to review challenges before certifying the final results. According to provisional tallies, candidate Mabio Mavoungou Zinga received approximately 1.48% of the vote, while Uphrem Dave Mafoula obtained around 1.03%.
