In 1960, we developed Blunsdon House into a country club, three years after Peter and Zan Clifford had first welcomed bed-and-breakfast guests to the family home during the Bath and West Agricultural Show. Our own historical record identifies 1960 as the year Blunsdon House progressed from its early guest accommodation beginnings to operating as a country club. The change represented an important stage in the development of the Clifford family's hospitality business at Blunsdon. The country club operation was relatively short-lived as a distinct phase: in 1962, Blunsdon House became a licensed hotel.
