On 3 April 2024, we announced the acquisition of Lasercomb Dies, bringing the Redditch-based die-making and engraving business into the Arden Group. Lasercomb employed around 80 people at its Midlands manufacturing site and had been producing tooling for the print and packaging industries since 1984. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Lasercomb continued to operate from its existing Redditch facility under the Lasercomb name and branding, with its workforce and day-to-day operations remaining in place. Managing Director Mike Allsop continued in his role, while Alistair Baxter remained as Sales Director. For Arden, the acquisition extended our UK manufacturing presence beyond our Stockport base and added Lasercomb's experience in the flatbed folding-carton market.
At the time of the acquisition, we described the combined operation as the largest die-making group in the UK. Following the deal, the wider Arden Group employed around 300 people and reported combined annual turnover of approximately £20 million.
