In April 1948, Lucky Chemical Co., Ltd., founded by Koo In-hwoi, established its first cosmetics laboratory in Changsin-dong, Seoul, marking an important milestone in the company's early development. Following the introduction of Lucky Cream in 1947, the company began strengthening its research and product-development capabilities to support its growing cosmetics business. The establishment of the laboratory demonstrated Lucky Chemical's commitment to improving product quality, developing manufacturing knowledge, and expanding its presence in South Korea's emerging consumer goods industry. The laboratory represented an early step toward the company's transformation from a small cosmetics manufacturer into a diversified chemical enterprise. By investing in research and technical expertise, Lucky Chemical helped lay the foundations for future product innovations and industrial expansion. The company subsequently entered plastic manufacturing in 1952 and introduced Lucky Toothpaste in the 1950s. These developments contributed to the growth of the business that eventually became part of LG Group, demonstrating the importance of research and innovation in its corporate history
