In December 2016, we unveiled a new Virgin Holidays V-Room lounge at London Gatwick Airport, ahead of its opening to customers on 25 January 2017. Located in the airport's North Terminal, the lounge was developed as part of Virgin Atlantic's move from Gatwick's South Terminal and was designed to offer Virgin Holidays customers a more comfortable place to begin their journeys. Covering more than 7,200 square feet, the new V-Room brought together relaxation areas, dining facilities and entertainment for adults and children. Its features included cabana-style daybeds, a dedicated play area for younger children, interactive games, a coffee shop and a range of breakfast options. A Virgin Holidays service desk was also available to help customers with last-minute travel enquiries. Access was offered to customers travelling on Virgin Holidays packages, with paid entry starting at £20 for adults and £12 for children aged two to eleven when booked in advance. The lounge shared an operational space with the refurbished Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, allowing us to provide separate facilities tailored to holidaymakers and premium-cabin passengers. The December announcement introduced the next version of an established Virgin Holidays service. Our original V-Room at Gatwick had opened in 2008, so the 2016 development was a replacement lounge rather than the first V-Room at the airport.
