In May 2021, a significant cultural agreement was reached involving HMRC, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Cambridge University Library, the Science Museum Group, and the Hawking Estate. This Acceptance-in-Lieu agreement ensures that approximately 10,000 pages of Stephen Hawking's scientific papers and other writings will remain in Cambridge, preserving his legacy within the academic community. Additionally, iconic objects such as his wheelchairs, speech synthesizers, and personal memorabilia from his former office will be displayed at the Science Museum, allowing the public to engage with the life and work of one of the most renowned physicists of our time. This collaboration not only honors Hawking's contributions to science but also enhances public understanding of his remarkable journey and the challenges he overcame. The agreement reflects a commitment to safeguarding important cultural artifacts and making them accessible for future generations to learn from and be inspired by. #mooflife #mof #MomentOfLife #StephenHawking #Acceptance-in-lieu #CambridgeUniversity #ScienceMuseum #CulturalHeritage
