Under Investigation Following Serious Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

In late 2018, astrophysicist and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, leading to public scrutiny and formal investigations. The allegations surfaced from incidents spanning decades, with the most serious claim dating back to 1984. Musician and former academic Tchiya Amet El Maat accused Tyson of drugging and raping her while they were both graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin.
