In late 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought one of the most difficult periods in Little’s history. With international travel severely restricted and demand for chauffeur services dramatically reduced, we explored ways to adapt and remain operational. Ultimately, Managing Director Heather Matthews made the decision to place the business into what Little’s has since described as a “financial coma”, conserving resources so there would still be a viable company when meaningful travel returned.
The operation was scaled back significantly, with staff furloughed and vehicles taken off the road. Rather than attempting to maintain normal activity in a market where much of our core business had disappeared, the priority became protecting the organisation through an uncertain period. Little’s remained in this reduced state until restrictions eased, borders reopened and the team began returning from furlough.
