Kamala Harris is a trailblazing American politician who made history as the first female, Black, and South Asian Vice President of the United States. Born in 1964 in Oakland, California, she graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office before being elected as the District Attorney of San Francisco and later California's Attorney General. In 2016, she became the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator in history. In 2020, she was chosen as the running mate for President Joe Biden, winning the election and making history once again as the Vice President of the United States.
