Launch of the KellyBronze XS Turkey

In 2016, we launched the KellyBronze XS, or KBXS, a turkey bred specifically for smaller Christmas gatherings. Our aim was to offer households with fewer guests the experience of cooking and serving a whole turkey without having to buy a conventionally sized bird. KellyBronze described the new bird as approximately half the size of its standard turkeys. The KBXS was the result of our own breeding programme rather than simply a smaller cut from a conventional bird. At launch, we described it as the world's smallest breed of turkey. The product subsequently became part of the regular KellyBronze range alongside larger whole birds, crowns and breast roasts, with the company publishing dedicated cooking guidance for the XS bird. Its introduction addressed a practical issue for customers who wanted a whole Christmas turkey for a smaller table. Contemporary coverage described the KellyBronze XS as suitable for four people, providing an indication of the type of gathering for which it had been developed.
