On 22 September 2011, our KellyBronze turkey won Best Christmas Traditional Product at the British Turkey Awards, taking the title for the fifth consecutive year. The free-range KellyBronze was judged against 11 other whole roasted turkeys in the category at The UnderGlobe in London. The judging panel included a magazine food writer, a consultant chef and three consumers. They praised the appearance of the bird, its gamey flavour and particularly its leg meat. The award was presented to Derek Kelly and Paul Kelly by former England and Liverpool goalkeeper Ray Clemence and Lorna Cousins, chair of the British Turkey Federation's marketing committee, in front of around 220 guests. The fifth consecutive win related specifically to the traditional Christmas whole-turkey category. It was also the eighth successive year in which KellyBronze had received an award at the event, with earlier recognition including awards for turkey crowns and a demi-bird.
