Stalin's arrest and subsequent exile were pivotal events in his early political career. Following a series of labor strikes, he became involved in organizing mass demonstrations, which ultimately led to his arrest in April 1902. The authorities sentenced him to three years of exile in Siberia, where he was sent to Novaya Uda. This period of exile was significant as it provided Stalin with the opportunity to deepen his political ideology and connections within the revolutionary movement. During his time in Siberia, he was isolated from the political activities occurring in the cities, yet he remained engaged with revolutionary literature and ideas. His exile did not deter his commitment to the cause; instead, it solidified his resolve to return to political activism. Stalin's escape from exile in January 1904 marked a turning point in his life. After one unsuccessful attempt, he managed to flee and made his way to Tiflis. There, he resumed his political activities and co-edited the Marxist newspaper Proletar
