Appeared on Please Take Care of My Refrigerator

On 11/12/2017, Gordon Ramsay appeared as a guest chef on the South Korean variety show Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, also known internationally as Chef & My Fridge. The program features chefs preparing dishes within 15 minutes using only ingredients taken from a celebrity guest’s refrigerator. During the episode, Ramsay participated in a head to head cooking battle following the show’s standard format. Ramsay competed against veteran Korean Chinese chef Lee Yeon bok. The refrigerator used for the challenge belonged to professional baseball player Oh Seung hwan, who also served as the judge for the round. Both chefs had 15 minutes to create dishes using the available ingredients. During cooking, Ramsay experienced a minor mishap when part of his crispy rice fell onto the stove, but he continued preparing the dish within the time limit. After tasting both entries, Oh Seung hwan selected Ramsay as the winner. The decision cited Ramsay’s use of Korean flavors and overall presentation. The appearance marked one of Ramsay’s guest spots on a South Korean television program and drew attention for the international chef competing within the show’s fast paced cooking format.
