Temüjin, later known as Genghis Khan, was focused on consolidating power in eastern Mongolia during his early military campaigns. His strategic approach involved defeating rival clans to establish dominance. The Tayichiud clan was one of his first targets, and after successfully overcoming them, he turned his attention to the Tatars. The campaign against the Tatars was marked by decisive military tactics that led to their defeat. Following this victory, Temüjin executed the clan leaders, a move that served both as a warning to others and as a means to eliminate potential threats to his authority. This practice of executing leaders was part of his broader strategy to consolidate power and integrate the remaining warriors into his own ranks, thereby strengthening his forces. Among those who joined him was Sorkan-Shira, who had previously aided Temüjin, and a young warrior named Jebe, who demonstrated exceptional martial skills and bravery during the campaign. Jebe's actions, including a notable incident where he killed Temüjin's horse, showcased his courage and loyalty, further solidifying Temüjin's reputation as a leader capable of inspiring fierce loyalty among his followers.
