Partnership with Best Western Begins

In 1976, we began our association with Best Western, joining its network while Blunsdon House Hotel remained independently owned and operated by the Clifford family. The arrangement gave the hotel access to the wider Best Western network and its commercial and distribution support without changing the independent ownership of the business. BWH Hotels describes the relationship as a partnership between an independent hotel and the wider group. The relationship became a long-running part of Blunsdon House Hotel's development. In 2026, BWH Hotels recognised the hotel for 50 years with the brand, providing strong evidence that the partnership began in 1976. Earlier industry reporting had similarly recognised Blunsdon House for 40 years of Best Western membership. Throughout the affiliation, Blunsdon House continued to operate as an independent family hotel rather than becoming a Best Western-owned property. Today, the hotel is represented within the BW Premier Collection, continuing the relationship established five decades earlier.
