Christopher's Carvery Prepares for Transformation

In August 2014, Christopher's Carvery closed as we prepared to redevelop our main restaurant at Blunsdon House Hotel. The work formed part of a wider refurbishment programme supported by a £500,000 HSBC finance package announced the previous month. Contemporary reporting confirmed that Christopher's would close during August before its replacement opened in September. The refurbishment went beyond a change of name. A new kitchen was installed, while the front-of-house area received new furniture and decoration. The replacement restaurant, Flame, was designed around a modern menu featuring charcoal-grill cooking while retaining a daytime carvery service. Flame subsequently became the hotel's main restaurant and remains part of Blunsdon House's dining facilities.
