Blunsdon House Hotel Starting Year

In 1957, we began welcoming paying guests to Blunsdon House in Broad Blunsdon, near Swindon. Peter and Zan Clifford, who were farming at the time, opened their home to bed-and-breakfast visitors attending the Bath and West Agricultural Show. This was the beginning of the Clifford family's hospitality business at Blunsdon House. The business developed gradually from these early beginnings. Blunsdon House became a country club in 1960 and a licensed hotel in 1962, establishing the operation that grew into Blunsdon House Hotel. The Clifford family remained closely involved in the property as it developed.
