Arden Software name becomes official

On 12 January 1990, Arden Software Limited became the registered name of the company that would carry forward our packaging software activities. Companies House records show that the legal entity, company number 00551335, had previously traded under the name Laser Dies Limited from 31 December 1976 until the change to Arden Software Limited on 12 January 1990. The change formalised the Arden Software name following the development of our specialist CAD/CAM activities during the 1980s. Arden's history records that the IPD (Interactive Packaging Design) system was attracting interest from the packaging sector by 1988, when Arden Software emerged as a distinct part of the business. The 1990 registered-name change therefore aligned the existing corporate entity with the growing software operation.
