In 2025, we marked 60 years since Arden Dies was formally established in Marple. The business had begun the previous year, when Frank and Philip Poynter started making dies from the cellar of their family home in Bredbury. By 1965, the operation had outgrown that small workshop and moved into its first factory on Cross Lane in Marple, establishing Arden Dies as the first company in what would become the wider Arden Group. Six decades later, Arden remained a family business, with Frank Poynter's son Martin serving as Managing Director and Martin's daughter Sarah as Operations Director. By 2025, the Group comprised Arden Dies, Arden Engraving and Arden Software and employed around 260 people across operations in the UK, Germany, Denmark, Poland, India, the United States and Mexico. To commemorate the anniversary, we brought employees and their families together for a Family Fun Day at Marple Golf Club in June 2025, while Arden's international offices planned their own anniversary activities during the year.
