Apple’s Apps for Earth campaign, created in partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), successfully raised global awareness about environmental conservation while generating more than $8 million to support WWF’s critical conservation efforts. The results of this initiative were announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. Conducted over ten days in April, the campaign brought together Apple, WWF, and 24 app developers with a shared goal of helping protect the planet through digital innovation. Each participating app offered exclusive interactive and educational content designed specifically for Apps for Earth, allowing users to actively engage in conservation-related activities while learning about environmental challenges. A key highlight of the campaign was Apple’s commitment to donate 100% of the proceeds from participating apps and in-app purchases directly to WWF’s conservation work. This initiative marked the second collaboration between Apple and WWF. Previously, the two organizations launched a multi-year partnership aimed at protecting up to one million acres of responsibly managed forests in China. Together, these efforts reflect Apple’s broader commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting sustainable resource management across its global operations.
