On November 26, 1953, Lucky Industry Corporation was established as a specialized import and export company within Lucky Group, marking an important milestone in the expansion of the business founded by South Korean entrepreneur Koo In-hwoi. Koo In-hwoi became the company's first president, overseeing its early development as a trading enterprise. The establishment of Lucky Industry represented a strategic move beyond the group's original cosmetics and chemical manufacturing operations, creating a dedicated organization to manage international trade and support the growing demand for industrial materials and consumer products. This development helped establish the foundations for Lucky Group's future participation in global commerce. Lucky Industry played a significant role in the international expansion of the business that eventually became LG Group. In April 1956, the company was renamed Bando Corporation, reflecting its developing commercial operations. Over the following decades, it expanded its trading activities and contributed to South Korea's export-oriented industrial growth. The company adopted the name Lucky-Goldstar International in 1984 and became LG International Corporation in 1995. In July 2021, following its separation from LG Group, it was renamed LX International Corporation. Its evolution from a trading company into an international enterprise highlights the importance of Lucky Industry in the broader history of South Korean industrialization and global business expansion.
