On 5 October 2020, Wilson Bohannan was selected as Ohio’s representative for the fourth annual Made in America Product Showcase at the White House. One business from each state was named for the event, and the official White House announcement listed Wilson Bohannan Lock Company for Ohio.
We had planned to display our U.S.-made brass padlocks and highlight the manufacturing work carried out at our Marion, Ohio, plant. The in-person showcase, however, did not proceed as originally planned after the White House announced COVID-19 cases immediately before the event. Contemporary industry reporting described it as postponed. The distinction is important: Wilson Bohannan was officially selected to represent Ohio, but company representatives did not ultimately exhibit at an in-person White House showcase on 5 October.
