In 1890, we published a new illustrated catalogue documenting the range of locks being manufactured at our Lexington Avenue works in Brooklyn. The catalogue presented an extensive selection of padlocks and related hardware, with products identified by model numbers, sizes, construction and available options. It provides a contemporary record of how the Wilson Bohannan range had expanded and become increasingly standardised during the company's first three decades.
The catalogue also illustrates the scale of the business following the opening of the Lexington Avenue factory in 1888. Its cover identifies the works at 754–776 Lexington Avenue and depicts the factory complex, while the product pages show locks intended for commercial and industrial applications, including railroad use. As one of the surviving late-19th-century Wilson Bohannan catalogues, it provides an important record of both our manufacturing operations and the products offered to customers at the time.
