On 6 January 2020, MarionMade published a feature marking Wilson Bohannan's 160th anniversary and documenting our development from a small Brooklyn lockmaking workshop into a long-established Marion, Ohio, manufacturer. The article traced the business from 1860, when Wilson Bohannan and his 14-year-old son began assembling padlocks, through the expansion of the Brooklyn operation and the family's decision to relocate manufacturing to Marion in the 1920s.
The anniversary feature also provided a snapshot of Wilson Bohannan in 2020. It described a seventh-generation family business employing 72 people at a 42,000-square-foot Marion facility, with ongoing investment in manufacturing and quality-control technology. MarionMade photographed employees at work throughout the plant, connecting the company's 160-year history with the people and processes then producing WB locks in Marion.
