In 1927, we established our manufacturing operation in Marion, Ohio, completing the transition away from the Brooklyn facilities where the business had developed since 1860. Led by Wilson Bohannan Tway, the relocation placed production in a former Marion manufacturing building and began the company's long association with the city. Our manufacturing operations remain in Marion today. Historical sources differ slightly on the timing. Wilson Bohannan company materials commonly date the move to 1926, when the decision and relocation process were underway, and Ohio incorporation records give 16 December 1926 as a key date in that transition. Local histories and business records identify 1927 as the year operations began in Marion. For the timeline, 1927 therefore most accurately represents the start of manufacturing operations at the new Ohio location, while 1926 records the decision, incorporation and beginning of the move.
