Howard Smith Joins Wilson Bohannan

In 1973, Howard Smith joined Wilson Bohannan in the accounting department at our Marion, Ohio, operation. Smith had graduated from Hillsdale College in 1968 and served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard before beginning his career with the company. He was married to Pam Norris Smith, a descendant of founder Wilson Bohannan. Smith went on to build a long career at Wilson Bohannan, working his way from accounting into company leadership. He became president in 1995, more than two decades after joining the business, and subsequently served as president and CEO. His tenure made him an important figure in the company's modern family leadership and manufacturing operations.
