In 2025, FANUC America highlighted Wilson Bohannan’s manufacturing modernisation through a series of posts on LinkedIn. FANUC presented our story as an example of how automation was helping a 165-year-old American manufacturer maintain domestic production. The posts accompanied an April 2025 case study examining the robotic polishing system installed at our Marion, Ohio, plant. The coverage focused on our work with Acme Manufacturing to replace an ageing polishing system with two FANUC M-10 series robots. FANUC reported that the system accommodates 18 padlock styles and increased finishing output from approximately 1,500–1,800 locks per eight-hour shift to more than 5,000, while moving employees away from repetitive and ergonomically difficult polishing work. For Wilson Bohannan, the feature provided outside recognition of a manufacturing strategy we had pursued for years: using modern equipment and automation to improve capacity and consistency while continuing to manufacture locks in Marion.
