Turkmenistan successfully completed its section of the TAPI pipeline, connecting its gas fields to the Afghan border, a crucial phase in a transnational energy project. Despite the completed segment in Turkmenistan, sections in Afghanistan and Pakistan were still under construction. Security concerns, delayed investments, and regional geopolitical challenges have hampered progress. In Pakistan, land acquisition issues and regulatory hurdles remain, while security in Afghanistan presents a substantial obstacle to timely completion. The Asian Development Bank has been a key supporter, providing technical and financial backing. Multilateral cooperation among the four nations involved is pivotal for overcoming obstacles and ensuring the pipeline's success.
