In February 1958, George Harrison, a fifteen-year-old guitarist, was invited by his friend Paul McCartney to watch The Quarrymen, a band led by John Lennon. At this time, Harrison was eager to join the group and auditioned for Lennon. Although Harrison impressed Lennon with his guitar skills, Lennon initially dismissed him due to his young age. However, Harrison's determination led him to persist in his efforts to join the band. After a month of persistence, McCartney arranged a second meeting between Harrison and Lennon. During this meeting, Harrison showcased his talent by performing the lead guitar part of the instrumental song 'Raunchy' on the upper deck of a Liverpool bus. This performance convinced Lennon of Harrison's abilities, and he was subsequently enlisted as the lead guitarist for The Quarrymen. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of Harrison's journey in music, which would later contribute to the formation of The Beatles, one of the most influential bands in history.
