The Apple Lisa, developed by Apple from 1978 and launched in the early 1980s, was a groundbreaking personal computer aimed primarily at business users. It holds the distinction of being the first personal computer to feature a graphical user interface (GUI), a revolutionary concept at the time. Despite its innovative design and advanced features, the Lisa struggled commercially, selling only about 100,000 units. This commercial failure did not overshadow its technical achievements, as many of its features were later integrated into the Macintosh line and influenced the development of IBM PC compatibles. In 1982, Steve Jobs was forced out of the Lisa project, which led him to take over the Macintosh project. He drew inspiration from the Lisa's design and functionality, ultimately leading to the release of the Macintosh XL, a modified version of the Lisa 2/10. The legacy of the Lisa lives on, as it paved the way for future advancements in personal computing and user interface design. #mooflife #mof #MomentOfLife #AppleLisa #SteveJobs #GraphicalUserInterface #PersonalComputerHistory #Macintosh
