Spain was engulfed in conflict as the Second Carlist War began in 1846. This bloody civil war was fought between two factions in Spain: the supporters of Isabella II, the ruling queen, and the Carlists, who backed Carlos María Isidro, her uncle. Sparked by political and ideological differences, the war witnessed fierce battles, sieges, and guerrilla warfare across the country. It lasted for six years, until 1849, resulting in the deaths of thousands of soldiers and civilians. This conflict further exacerbated regional divisions and deepened political unrest in Spain. The war eventually ended with the defeat of the Carlists and the consolidation of Queen Isabella's power. #Spain #SecondCarlistWar #CivilWar
