On 18/10/2018, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of the 194-room Ramada Plaza Fuxian Lake in Yunnan Province, China, marking the Ramada brand's 100th hotel in the country. Located near Fuxian Lake, a freshwater lake south of Kunming, the property expanded Ramada's presence in China's hospitality market. The opening came several months after Wyndham Hotels & Resorts became an independent publicly traded company on 01/06/2018. Ramada, operating under the Ramada by Wyndham brand identity, was part of Wyndham's international portfolio of franchised and managed hotel properties.
The 100-hotel milestone reflected Ramada's expansion across China through properties serving business and leisure travellers in cities and tourism destinations. The new hotel added 194 guest rooms to the brand's Chinese network and strengthened its presence in Yunnan, a province known for its lakes, mountain landscapes, and tourism industry. Wyndham's announcement identified the Fuxian Lake property as the location that brought Ramada's Chinese portfolio to 100 hotels. The development formed part of the company's broader efforts to expand its hotel brands in the Asia-Pacific region through partnerships with local owners and operators.
