On 10/04/2018, Wyndham Hotel Group announced that Ramada and several other hotel brands in its portfolio would adopt the "by Wyndham" endorsement as part of a company-wide branding initiative. The change introduced the name "Ramada by Wyndham," linking the established Ramada identity more visibly to its parent hospitality company. The announcement was made as Wyndham prepared to separate its hotel business from Wyndham Worldwide and establish Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as an independent publicly traded company. Other participating brands included Days Inn, Super 8, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, and Microtel, which were also scheduled to incorporate the Wyndham name.
The branding initiative aimed to establish a consistent relationship between Wyndham's corporate identity and its individual hotel brands while preserving their existing names. The changes were intended to appear across hotel signage, websites, advertising, and guest communications as the company implemented its updated brand architecture. For Ramada, the announcement introduced a new naming convention without replacing its established hotel brand. The transition formed part of Wyndham's broader corporate reorganisation, which culminated in the launch of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as an independent company on 01/06/2018.
