Republican States and Their Confederations

The republican states known as gaṇasaṅghas were formed by various confederations, with notable examples being the Kushinagar and Pava confederations. Kushinagar, located in modern Kasia near Gorakhpur, served as a significant capital for one of these confederations. The other confederation, with Pava as its capital, is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Kushinagar, in present-day Fazilnagar.
