Jesse Jackson

Jesse Jackson is a prominent civil rights activist, minister, and politician who rose to prominence in the 1960s. He worked closely with Martin Luther King Jr. and was a key figure in the civil rights movement. Jackson later founded the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, a social justice organization that advocates for African American and minority rights. He ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988, becoming the second African American to mount a nationwide campaign for the presidency. Jackson has also been involved in various diplomatic efforts, including negotiating the release of American prisoners in hostile countries. Throughout his career, Jackson has been a vocal advocate for social justice, economic equality, and civil rights.
