In November 2010, Kiribati hosted the Tarawa Climate Change Conference (TCCC), a pivotal event aimed at fostering dialogue among vulnerable states and their partners in the face of climate change. This conference was initiated by the President of Kiribati to create a consultative forum that would facilitate multi-party negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As a successor to the Climate Vulnerable Forum, TCCC sought to address the pressing challenges faced by nations most affected by climate change. The primary objective of the conference was to reduce the number and intensity of fault lines between parties involved in the Conference of the Parties (COP) process. By exploring elements of agreement and promoting collaboration, TCCC aimed to enhance the contributions of Kiribati and other vulnerable states to the subsequent COP16 held in Cancun, Mexico. The outcomes of TCCC were intended to pave the way for more effective negotiations and stronger commitments to combat climate change, ensuring that the voices of the most affected nations were heard and considered in global discussions. #mooflife #mof #MomentOfLife #TarawaClimateChangeConference #Tccc2010 #Kiribati #ClimateChangeNegotiations #Unfccc
