On 25/02/2018, Ivanka Trump led the United States presidential delegation to the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. Appointed by President Donald Trump, she headed a delegation that included White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Senator James Risch. Her visit lasted four days and combined diplomatic engagements with official representation at the আন্তর্জাতিক sporting event.
During her stay, Ivanka Trump met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in at the Blue House in Seoul. The meeting included a private dinner where discussions focused on maintaining coordinated international pressure on North Korea regarding its nuclear and missile programs. The اللقاء followed earlier diplomatic efforts during the Olympics, which had drawn global attention due to the participation of North Korean officials and athletes.
In addition to diplomatic activities, Ivanka Trump attended several Olympic events, including snowboarding and curling competitions, and visited the USA House, where she met members of Team USA. These engagements were part of her role in representing the United States and supporting American athletes during the Games.
At the closing ceremony, Ivanka Trump was seated in the VIP section alongside President Moon Jae-in and senior North Korean official Kim Yong-chol, a vice chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Despite their proximity, there were no formal interactions reported between the U.S. and North Korean delegations during the event. Her participation in the closing ceremony followed Vice President Mike Pence, who had led the U.S. delegation at the opening ceremony earlier in February 2018.
