Between 2001 and 2005, Ivanka Trump was in a relationship with James “Bingo” Gubelmann, a New York socialite and film producer. The couple moved within similar social circles in New York City, both having backgrounds connected to prominent families and elite private education. Their relationship took place during Ivanka Trump’s college years and early professional period, as she transitioned from Georgetown University to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
During this time, Gubelmann co-produced the 2003 documentary Born Rich, which examined the lives of young heirs from wealthy families in the United States. Ivanka Trump appeared in the film, including a segment in which she gave a tour of her childhood bedroom at Trump Tower. The documentary featured several individuals from affluent backgrounds and provided insight into their upbringing and perspectives on wealth.
The relationship ended in 2005. Ivanka Trump publicly acknowledged the breakup during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that same year. Following their separation, she continued her career in business, joining the Trump Organization as an Executive Vice President. In 2007, she began a relationship with Jared Kushner, whom she later married in 2009.
