IBM has made a commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This decision comes in response to growing concerns about the environmental impact of corporate operations, particularly in light of its historical contributions to pollution, notably during its early years in Endicott, New York. The company has been actively monitoring its carbon footprint and reported a total of 621 kilotons of CO2e emissions for the twelve months ending December 31, 2020. This figure represents a significant reduction of 324 kilotons, or 34.3%, compared to the previous year.
