On 16/08/2017, Gordon Ramsay set a Guinness World Record for the longest pasta sheet rolled in 60 seconds during the season finale of The F Word. The attempt took place under the supervision of Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric, with Ramsay producing a pasta sheet measuring 1.45 meters, equivalent to 4 feet 9 inches. The challenge required speed and precision, as the pasta had to meet strict guidelines to qualify for official recognition.
To be accepted, the dough could only contain flour, eggs, salt, and water. The sheet also had to maintain a minimum thickness of 0.15 centimeters and remain intact as a single piece without rips, holes, or tears. Ramsay rolled the dough within the 60 second limit and presented a continuous sheet that met the criteria, securing the record during the televised segment.
Ramsay held the title for several years following the 2017 broadcast. On 08/10/2020, the record was later broken by Samuel Tan in Singapore, who produced a pasta sheet measuring 2.03 meters, or 6 feet 6 inches, surpassing Ramsay’s earlier mark. The original attempt remained part of The F Word finale and one of several timed culinary challenges featured on the program.
